A surprise from my best girl when I picked her up from school today.  She said she made me a purple heart on purple paper because purple is my favorite color.  I ♥ her.

New 52 - Week Thirteen

In October I quit smoking.  It was one of the hardest things I've ever done.  In January I started taking other baby steps to get healthy.  Eat out less, cook at home more.  I know I still need to lose weight. I had my annual lab work done last week and the results were not great.  I am not healthy and I know that but I also know that I'm making changes.  My doctor suggested I take fish oil along with several other supplements while trying to lose weight.  All I have to say is...BLAH!  I don't like it but I'll take it.  UGH!

Tonight I made Shrimp & Crab Ravioli in a Lemon Butter sauce.  I really liked the ravioli but next time I'll try it with an alfredo sauce.

A lot of ups and downs today.  One minute she is happy go lucky and the next she is grumpy and mad. I  feel bad for her.  She doesn't want to take her medicine.  Yeah, it was a rough day for her.

Poor baby went back to Children's Hospital again tonight.  She has an ear infection.  Boo!

Dalyla's version of Dot to Dot includes one continuous line and the two of us walking to Chick-fil-A.  She wanted nothing to do with taking turns or following the rules.

My best girl went to Urgent Care and then Children's Hospital because her oxygen was so low.  She said she had four elephants (breathing treatments).

I love crab and I love pasta.  Could there be anything better than Crab Alfredo?

New 52 - Week Twelve

Continuing in my quest to learn how to cook I took some of my favorite foods (crab and pasta) and made Crab Alfredo.  It was delicious.  And no, it wasn't out of a box or a frozen package.  I chopped the garlic and parsley myself.

Day Seventy Eight

My best girl got a haircut today.  It was a huge event.  This is her third real haircut in her whole little life.  The first time was traumatic and the second time she looked scared.  This time she went to Sweet & Sassy for the royal treatment.  She was a trooper.

After some research I discovered the best vacuum for me is one for pets. I don't have pets I just have too much hair.

I was in need of a new vacuum so I did some research and found that this was the best option for me.  A vacuum for someone with pets.  I don't have pets.  I have too much hair.  Thick, long hair.

Day Seventy Four

I'm not good with living things.  This cactus originated from my grandma's cactus.  My mom started it for me when I moved into my first apartment.  She has the original cactus that was my grandma's.  After being told I wasn't watering my cactus enough I made a point to water it once a week along with my unlucky bamboo.  The next thing I know it starts to smell.  Like I said, I'm not good with living things.  Apparently there is such a thing as too much water for a cactus.  I left it outside for a few days to dry out and repotted it.  I don't know if it's going to make it.  Parts of it look good and other parts not so much.  Yeah, not so good with living things.    

Day Seventy Three

My annual eye exam was a few months early this year.  I had a feeling my prescription had changed and sure enough my right eye had gotten worse.  After discussing some issues I've been having with my contact lenses with my doctor I've also switched to a peroxide based cleaner.  It's almost like having a new pair of contacts each day.

Today a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit just minutes after the earthquake.

This is my favorite picture of my grandma.  Today is her birthday.  She would have been 91 years old.  Dalyla has just recently started asking questions about my grandparents.  I love sharing my memories with her.

I spend a lot of money on my hair.  I use high quality products.  This is my new curling iron.  I had my last curling iron for almost 5 years.  You get what you pay for.  This one should last me just as long.  And it's pink.

Day Sixty Five

Today is my last day on Chantix.  I started this journey October 2nd.  I could not have done it without Chantix and the support of my family and friends.    I want to give an extra special thank you to my dad and my cousin Mindy.  They have been my biggest supporters.  Thank you for taking the time to ask how I'm doing and for being as excited as I am for each weekly or monthly milestone I hit.  You guys are the best!
